Polymeristas for the Month of July

Yeh!! I was chosen again :)
For my Butterfly wing necklace, in the category of beginner -
Integration of theme and treatment is what makes this gentle and delicate piece so successful. Beyond the obvious depiction of butterfly wings in the cane work, the spare use of material - mostly whites and translucents - evokes both lightness and fragility. Most effectively, the repetitive wing motif on either side of the focal bead suggests a butterfly in mid-flight, giving the piece fluidity and movement.
Oh and don't forget to go visit the winners of the other categories :)

Alice
Yesterday I taught my first polymer clay class - everyone just loved it and had a great time!
I decided to start with something easy - polymer clay transfer pendants :)
Should have put them up here earlier really - I have quite a few but here is some of my work - enjoy:)

Steampunk
I have made this beautiful focal for a steampunk challenge on the beading forum.
I love this piece and must get around to turning it into a necklace very soon.
Made of premo polymer clay, and watch parts.

More polymer :)
Yes more!! I love this medium.
These are made with the left over mokume gane (sp?) but I just love the bangle - definitely not a left over!!
Butterfly wings
I have been busy baking and creating with my newest love - polymer clay - and am quite happy with the results :)
These items are from my first ever butterfly cane, which I made without any tutorial, I love the translucency the wings have from the premo frost and think I will be using a lot more of this in the future!!

Gane necklace
I made this about a month ago, but I thought I would share ( you know me and taking pictures...)
This is polymer clay, mokume gane technique, finished with brass components.
Oh and its reversible, the back is a black swirl texture and looks good as well :)
